Anti-corruption campaigner Bill Browder will deliver this year’s Orwell Memorial Lecture, In Front of Your Nose: Putin, Russia and What We Failed to See.

The lecture, which is a public event, will take place on Wednesday 22nd November at University College London, home of the Orwell Archive. The evening is generously sponsored by Richard Blair, George Orwell’s son and Founding Patron of The Orwell Foundation.

Doors will open from 7pm for a 7.30pm start (please note the revised timings).

The Orwell Memorial Lecture has been given annually since 1989, in memory of the author, essayist, and journalist George Orwell, and has attracted notable speakers including Ian McEwan, Dame Hilary Mantel, Daniel Finkelstein and Ruth Davidson MSP. Speakers are tasked with discussing any topic ‘Orwell might have been interested in’.
