The winners of the Orwell Prize 2016 was announced at the Prize Ceremony on the evening of Thursday 26th May 2016, in Fyvie Hall at the University of Westminster
The Orwell Prize were delighted to announce the following winners:
- Arkady Ostrovsky’s The Invention of Russia won the Orwell Prize for Books 2016
- Nicci Gerrard won the Orwell Prize for Exposing Britain’s Social Evils 2016
- The Orwell Prize for Journalism 2016 was shared between Gideon Rachman and Iona Craig
