Thursday 14 November 2019
We are sorry to say that we have had to postpone Daniel Finkelstein’s Orwell Memorial Lecture, ‘How to Predict An Election’, scheduled for the 19th November, as well as the accompanying Archive Event with D. J. Taylor. We are rescheduling for the spring and will release details shortly (unfortunately guests will have to re-register). We hope to see you there.
This is a consequence of a strike announced last week by the IWGB, which will take place on the same day. The IWGB continues is in dispute with University College London. We have taken this difficult decision having been unable, at short notice, to find a suitable alternative venue.
The lecture was part of a day of integrated, topical programming, including a writing workshop on democracy and elections with the Orwell Youth Prize at the Wiener Library. Finally, we are grateful to all those who registered their interest in the run up to one of the most important elections of recent years and look forward to welcoming you to a Foundation event in the near future. All donations will be returned by the booking platform.
Best wishes,
The Orwell Foundation team
