Some will say that a book about George Orwell’s most famous book should not be in the running for the George Orwell Prize. My response to them would be: read The Ministry of Truth then tell me if you still feel the same way. It’s about the writing of 1984 but also, somehow, about everything that’s happened since and about what we are thinking about right now."
